Flipbook Project- The Poison Apple

The inspiration for the flip book came from the book that I used. I am a huge disney person so when I went to buy a book a book about the Evil Queen stood out to me. Since the book was about The Evil Queen from Snow White I decided to go with a poison apple theme.

Madama Butterfly

The story of Madama Butterfly is tragic. It saddens my heart to think someone would take a woman's child from her. Even if it was the soldier's child he has no right to take the child when he didn't take care for madama butterfly. He was never around for a single moment of the child's life.  The animation does a great way of showing this scene. Showing that he didn't care about madama butterfly at all but she loves him. The man ran away quickly to the boat, as if he was just using her for his own gain.  She waits so long to have a happy life with him but he never returned until a long time after. The animation is amazing but some of the representations were interesting. When madama butterfly is pregnant this sense is interesting to me. I do not like the idea of a fish tank in her stomach and the child starting out as a fish. There could of been a different way of showing that she was pregnant other that a fish tank. 30x30 Grid Art Project

For the grid project I used a canvas and jewel sequins which is 30x30 . Then I used mod podge to glue down all of the sequins. The pieces is called "Flow of the Ocean" because it is an image of a wave and waves are what help generate some flow throughout the ocean. The ocean is a passion of mine since my major is  Marine Biology and in my introduction to marine science class we just learned about waves which is what gave me the inspiration for this piece.
