Flipbook Project- The Poison Apple

The inspiration for the flip book came from the book that I used. I am a huge disney person so when I went to buy a book a book about the Evil Queen stood out to me. Since the book was about The Evil Queen from Snow White I decided to go with a poison apple theme.

Broadway- Angel de Quinta'a Stage Door Blog

This blog had a large range of posts about broadway shows that dated all the way back to 2011. Angel de Quinta's blog really shows you all the different types of shows that have been produced over the history of Broadway. Unfortunately, I have not been able to see many Broadway shows and hope to see more in the future. The only Broadway shows I have see are Wicked and The Lion King. After looking through the blog there were 3 shows that stuck out to me. Hair was one of the musicals that stuck out to me in this blog. Even though I have never seen this show I have heard about this show from my parents. The time period that the show was written is very influential in history. Quinta talks about how this show gave the country a new light after all of the deaths that were occurring in the country. I watched the video clip on the blog and in the one scene the way the lighting changed made the set pieces seem as thought they were changing even though the were not. This technology helped...

"The Magic Flute"

Victoria Fagg Professor Roundtree Art 211-LN 25 September 2017 The Magic Flute             The Magic Flute or Die Zauberfl ö te is an opera that was written in 1791 by Wolfgang Mozart (Schwarm).   On September 30 th was the first showing of the opera (Schwarm). This was Mozart’s last piece that he created before passing away (Schwarm). I watched remade version of the opera, “The Magic Flute” is a beautiful story about love and personal development. Tamino, a price, is saved by the three ladies of the Queen of Night from a snake and is told he needs to save her daughter, Pamina, from Sarasto the Priest of the Sun. The Queen of the Night says if Tamino saves her daughter than he may have her hand in marriage. Papageno, the bird man, who works for the Queen of the Night goes with Tamino to find Pamina and love of his own. With the guide of the magic flute and the silver bells the two men go off to try to find love. E...

Madama Butterfly

The story of Madama Butterfly is tragic. It saddens my heart to think someone would take a woman's child from her. Even if it was the soldier's child he has no right to take the child when he didn't take care for madama butterfly. He was never around for a single moment of the child's life.  The animation does a great way of showing this scene. Showing that he didn't care about madama butterfly at all but she loves him. The man ran away quickly to the boat, as if he was just using her for his own gain.  She waits so long to have a happy life with him but he never returned until a long time after. The animation is amazing but some of the representations were interesting. When madama butterfly is pregnant this sense is interesting to me. I do not like the idea of a fish tank in her stomach and the child starting out as a fish. There could of been a different way of showing that she was pregnant other that a fish tank. I do not get the concept or meaning behind why t...

Comments on Raul Cuero's Interview

The way that Raul Cuero approaches life is inspiring. Cuero has overcome so much criticism against him to achieve the intellectual growth he had always dreamed. The way he used basic items as a child, such as roaches, to expand his creative thinking is revolutionary. All of the advise Cuero gave about collaboration with others, not being afraid to fail, and connecting with nature connects all people not matter what their background. I agree with everything he said about how children today are spending too much time indoors and not interacting with others which is stunting creative growth. Furthermore, Ceuro mentioned that adults have problems with creativity as well. Watching this interview made me think about my life and connected Cuero's examples of problems that adults have in creativity to my life. When Cuero talked about people being afraid to fail this relates to my life. I regularly feel afraid to fail in my school work. The fear regularly blocks my judgement to use diffe...

Object Combination Project

Image
This piece is called "Smart Car-A Complex Machine". I combined a brain with a car. Cars are complex machines that have many working parts and technology systems to enhance the driving experience and make the car run. Same with our brains, the brain is the complex machine that controls our entire body to help us live each day,  collect information, and use our creativity to imagine and create incredible things.
